What is AI Chat?

AI Chat is a tool within YCharts that uses advanced AI to provide users with real-time insights, generate visualizations, and streamline workflows through a chat-based interface. AI Chat processes queries using indexed databases, including YCharts Data, Financial News, and SEC Filings. The AI Chat can provide financial news, summarize earnings statements, and create charts and tables in YCharts. The AI Chat is a good first resource when generating ideas and producing investment analysis.

 

Using the AI Chat

You can use the AI chat interface by simply asking a question in the search bar. You can phrase the question in plain language with no particular format required. You can also use one of the suggested questions on the homepage to get started.

 

Database Options

YCharts offers three databases:

  1. Financial News, which will pull recent financial news
  2. YCharts Data, which will allow you to create charts and tables and pull insights from the data within YCharts
  3. SEC Filings, which pull data from a company’s last 3 years of financial statements.

You can switch the database used by selecting the ‘Filter Data Sets’ button at the top left of the search bar

 

What powers the AI Chat?

YCharts uses OpenAI to power the AI Chat tool.

 

AI Chat Sources

The AI Chat uses MT Newswires, SA Breaking News, and Yahoo News as its sources for financial news. It uses YCharts as its source for YCharts Data. It uses the last 3 years of 10-Ks and 10-Qs as the source for SEC Data. You can view the sources by selecting the ‘Sources’ button at the bottom left of the AI Chat responses

 

AI Chat Limitations

There are a few limitations with the AI Chat tool that should be kept in mind when using it. Many of these are limitations with all current AI models.

  • The AI may provide inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete information. Users should independently verify all data before making financial decisions.
  • The AI does not have access to non-public or proprietary investment insights and does not provide personalized recommendations.
  • Market conditions and financial data can change rapidly, and AI-generated responses may not reflect the most current information available.
