How to Upload a Dynamic Portfolio Using Shares or Dollars

Dynamic Portfolios on YCharts let you track changes in holdings over time. You can upload them using shares, dollar amounts, or weights by filling out the dynamic portfolio template and uploading it into YCharts.

To upload a Dynamic Portfolio using shares or dollars follow the below steps:

1. The YCharts Excel Add-in is required and you can upload here, if needed. 

2. To download the template go to Tools → Excel → Templates → Portfolio Holdings.
3. Prepare your data and for each portfolio date, include:
        • Date (YYYY-MM-DD format).
        • Symbol (ticker).
        • Value (shares, dollar amount, or weight).
4. Create a Blank Dynamic Portfolio
      • Go to Tools → Portfolios → + Create New → Blank Dynamic Portfolio.
  2. Upload Your File
    • In the Dynamic Portfolio editor, click Upload Data and attach your completed Excel template.
  3. Select Save to confirm your upload.
    • Review to ensure your holdings and historical allocations appear correctly.
    • If needed, download, update, and re-upload your file
