How to Prepare a Report for a Client Meeting

The Report Builder on YCharts lets you create, customize, and share reports in just minutes. It’s a great tool for last-minute meetings because it’s fast, flexible, and filled with visuals. You can tailor the reports to highlight performance, add helpful explanations, and even include your own branding.

To create a report, please follow the steps below: 

  1. Go to Report Builder under Tools.

  2. Choose a report template like the Overview Report.

  3. Customize the cover page by adding your firm’s logo.

  4. Edit the modules by adding/removing performance data depending on what you want to highlight.

  5. Add definitions for terms or metrics, especially for clients who aren’t financially savvy.

  6. Insert full custom pages, like disclosures or commentary.

  7. Save report by selecting ‘Save’ and then ‘Save As’ to save template for future use.

  8. Select ‘Generate’ to export report to pdf.
