What Is the Start of Series for a Portfolio?

The Start of Series is the inception date of a static portfolio. There are three options for Start of Series that can be selected in the portfolio editor:

  1. Earliest - the portfolio will start on the inception date of the oldest security in the portfolio
  2. First Common - the portfolio will start on the inception date of the newest security in the portfolio
  3. Custom Date - the portfolio will start on the date you select

When Earliest or Custom Date are used, if a holding does not exist on a given date, its weight is redistributed to the other holdings based on their weights
