About LPL Financial:
LPL Financial is the nation's largest independent broker-dealer, serving more than 23,000 financial advisors and supporting institutions across the country. With a mission to enable advisor success through technology, resources, and support, LPL Financial has long prioritized building an ecosystem where advisors can run thriving, modern practices. As that ecosystem evolves from desktop tools to AI-powered workflows, LPL continues to seek partners who can move at the pace of its advisors' ambitions.
Summary
What began as a software relationship has evolved into a deeply embedded strategic relationship within LPL’s advisor ecosystem, driving measurable gains in advisor adoption, engagement, and daily workflow integration. Over three years, YCharts became not just a tool within LPL’s technology stack, but a core part of how advisors research, build portfolios, and communicate with clients.
Active advisor seats grew by more than 400% while average daily time on site increased by more than 800%. The catalyst was a deliberate, compounding partnership between YCharts and LPL’s home office that accelerated at every stage.
Today, YCharts is woven into LPL’s advisor infrastructure, from portfolio management to AI-powered workflow optimization featured in the Advisor Institute curriculum.

The Challenge
LPL Financial's advisors operate in one of the most competitive and time-pressured environments in wealth management. Building client proposals, monitoring portfolios, staying current on market data, and running compliant, consistent processes across thousands of advisors is an enormous operational challenge.
For YCharts, the opportunity was clear, but so was the bar. To move from a point solution to a platform embedded in the advisor journey, the partnership needed to go deeper than a license agreement. It required alignment at the home office level, integration into the tools advisors already used, and a shared vision for what modern advisory workflows should look like.
The early numbers reflected the ceiling that comes with surface-level adoption. Advisors were aware of YCharts but they were not yet living in it. Average daily sessions were short and engagement was limited to a small portion of the broader advisor network.
To move beyond surface-level adoption, the partnership needed to eliminate friction, align with home office priorities, and embed YCharts directly into the workflows advisors already relied on.
"Our goal is to provide our advisors with seamless, high-impact tools to solve pragmatic problems along their advisor journey. This comprehensive integration with YCharts makes it even easier for them to manage portfolios, engage clients in valuable conversation, and drive better outcomes."

The Solution
Embedding YCharts Deeper in the Advisor Workflow
The most consequential step in the partnership was embedding YCharts directly into ClientWorks, LPL's advisor-facing platform. Rather than requiring advisors to toggle between systems, YCharts became part of the native workflow, accessible where advisors already manage client relationships, build portfolios, and generate proposals.
The impact was immediate. Session time and advisor engagement grew substantially year-over-year, and the advisor base expanded meaningfully. ClientWorks did not simply distribute YCharts to more advisors; it fundamentally changed how advisors experienced the platform.
Amplifying Visibility Through Home Office Endorsement
YCharts also took an expanded role at LPL Focus, LPL's flagship annual conference attended by thousands of advisors and firm leadership. Advisors who had a login but had not yet leaned in came away with a clear reason to engage. That combination of program-level endorsement and on-the-ground visibility drove the active advisor base to grow significantly in a short period of time.

Deepening Usage Through AI-Powered Offering & Training
With adoption and awareness established, the next phase focused on deepening usage through artificial intelligence and practical workflow training.
YCharts Quick Extract, an AI tool that transforms PDFs and images into structured, ready-to-use proposal data, has been showcased within LPL's Advisor Institute curriculum and a multitude of partner-led webinars. This gives advisors a formal training pathway to learn how to leverage AI in their daily workflows, directly within a program they already trust.
The early engagement metrics reflect just how much advisors are leaning into this content. A strong majority of advisors who visit the AI tools page go on to actively engage with it, logging meaningful average session times and generating tens of thousands of page views. When advisors see what AI can do for them in a practical, workflow-oriented context, they do not just try it. They stay.
"YCharts Quick Extract is now part of our curated suite of AI tools, allowing advisors to effortlessly transform PDFs and images into ready-to-use data to build proposals faster."

What's Driving the Growth
Every stage of growth followed the same model: align with the home office, integrate into existing workflows, and reinforce adoption through training and visibility.
Advisor adoption is not driven by tool availability alone. It is driven by firm-level endorsement, seamless integration into existing workflows, and clear, practical guidance on how to use the technology effectively.
That is what the LPL–YCharts partnership has delivered at every stage, and what the AI-driven chapter is positioned to extend even further.
