ERR: NO DATA - Excel returns this error when the data point is absent. The issue can be resolved using the Fill Null field located at the bottom of the YCP or YCS formula boxes. *To see an example of how to use the Fill Null Field, please click here.
ERR: REQUEST FAILED - Excel returns this error when the connection from the excel add-in has been interrupted. This issue can most often be resolved by closing out of excel completely and re-opening the excel worksheet(s), which resets the connection.
ERR: INVALID CALC - Excel returns this error when the particular metric being pulled doesn't apply to the security. For example, you will see this error when trying to pull a P/E ratio for a mutual fund. To fix this issue, please confirm the metric is available for the corresponding asset class by checking against our website or our complete reference.
ERR: INVALID ASSET - Excel returns this error when the ticker being referenced is blank or begins with a punctuation mark. The issue can be resolved by either re-linking your cell to another ticker or by updating the ticker.
ERR: INVALID COMPANY - Excel returns this error when the ticker does not exist or is formatted incorrectly. If you are building your own spreadsheet, please ensure the ticker is typed correctly, including adding an "M:" in front of mutual funds tickers, an "I:" in front of economic indicators, and a caret (^) in front of index tickers (i.e. AAPL, M:FBIOX, I:10YTR, and ^SPXTR).
ERR: EXCEEDED QUOTA - Excel returns this error when you have surpassed your monthly quota. To fix this issue, please contact your account manager.
ERR: NOT AUTHORIZED - Excel returns this error when the access key used to log in to the add-in is incorrect. Note that the access key is separate from your YCharts password to login to the website. To get your add-in access key, please click here. You can copy your access key from the top right of the page.
ERR: MULTIPLE LOGINS DETECTED - Excel returns this error when our API has detected more than one computer connection logged in with the same access key. To fix this issue, please re-paste your key and hit login or contact your account manager or support to reset your access key.
#VALUE! - Excel returns this error when the formula does not recognize one or more of the input components. This issue can be resolved by reviewing the individual arguments and specifically looking for spaces, text, or other characters that would create an error.
#DIV/0! - Excel returns this error when the formula tries to divide by 0 or an empty cell. Please review the denominator argument to resolve this issue.
#NUM! - Excel returns this error when the formula generates an invalid number. Please check the arguments within the formula to resolve this issue.
#NULL! - Excel returns this issue when the formula does not detect an intersection between two arrays. This issue can be resolved by changing your inputs to ensure they intersect.
#Name? - Excel returns this error when the formula used in the spreadsheet is not recognized. Please take a look at the formula being used in order to resolve this issue.
